Hawaii Equity Loan Program

Due to the limited availability of capital for equity gap financing, oftentimes developers and owners may be faced with a funding gap between the amount of money raised to finance a project and the actual cost of the project.
Hawaii Equity Loan Program (HELP) is designed to provide additional assistance to select owners and developers to bridge the funding gap by providing subordinated soft-second mortgages for qualified projects. HELP is available only to projects assisted by the Low Income Housing Tax Credit program and administered by Hawaii Investors for Affordable Housing, Inc. (HIAHI).
