Dr. Gordon Jones has been an information systems professional for more than thirty-five years. He has been the senior systems engineer for the development of a wide array of complex computer and telecommunications systems for the Los Alamos National Laboratories, the U.S. Department of Defense, numerous multi-national corporations and foreign governments.

She works closely with her clients to develop and incorporate strategic communication into their human capital and change management strategies to drive business results.

From 2000 through 2005, Ho was President of BAE Systems’ Information and Electronic Systems Integration Sector, a $5.0B business with over 9000 employees. Prior to that, he served as President of the former Lockheed Martin Aerospace Electronics Systems (AES) business segment, acquired by BAE Systems in 2000.
With more than 35 years of defense and aerospace experience, Ho has served in a variety of other leadership positions. From 1997 to 1999, he was Chief Executive Officer of Lockheed Martin Tactical Systems, United Kingdom, and President, Helo Systems for Lockheed Martin Federal Systems, Owego, N.Y.
Lockheed Martin Corporation purchased Loral Corporation in 1996. While at Loral, Ho was Chief Executive Officer of its European subsidiary, Loral Europe Limited. Prior to that, he served as Senior Vice President of Loral Federal Systems and President of Loral ASIC beginning in 1994.
After ending his five year service with the U.S. Air Force in project management, Ho joined IBM as an avionics systems engineer in 1972 and subsequently held various management positions. In 1981, he was named Executive Assistant to the IBM Federal Systems President, responsible for technical and administrative management within the President’s office. He was later promoted to Program Director, Processor Systems Programs in 1982, Assistant General Manager, Systems Programs in 1985; and Assistant General Manager, Programs in 1987. In 1992, he became the IBM Federal Systems Vice President and General Manager, as well as President and Chief Executive Officer of ASIC responsible for the Merlin UK program and the U.S. Helo Systems Programs.
Ho received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Oregon State University and did graduate study work at Ohio State University. While serving as an officer in the U.S. Air Force, from 1968 – 1973, he helped develop the Digital Fire Control System for the AC-130E Gunship Program and was awarded the Vietnam Combat Service and the Air Force Meritorious Service Medals. Galen was born in Hawaii and got his high school education at Maryknoll Schools. He is married to Patricia (Ching) Ho and has two children. His hobbies include golf, sailing and snow skiing and doing consulting in what interests him the most! |

His current research focuses on the impact of technology on the culture, structures and functions of multinational corporations. Andrew Muras is Sr. Manager in BAE Systems Quality & Management Services Group. He specializes in developing and teaching performance management, knowledge management and business solutions for both industry and government organizations. A number of Mr. Muras’ projects highlight his expertise: ¨ Implemented chargebacks/service level agreements, unit costs and process improvements for an 800 employee Shared Services Organization, with savings in the multi-millions. ¨ Led a strategic assessment of Knowledge Management (KM) practices across the US Army’s generating force. Barbra Pleadwell is a communication strategist whose savvy spans word-of-mouth, print, radio, television, the web, environmental promotion, direct mail and events. She develops strategies for a broad range of industries, architects major media campaigns, and maneuvers organizations through issues and crises.Pleadwell is a partner with Hastings & Pleadwell: A Communication Company. The firm is thirteen years old and ranked among the top ten Honolulu public relations companies according to Pacific Business News.
Pleadwell leads Hastings & Pleadwell’s new media strategy. She maintains the firm’s blog and YouTube channel and works with clients to expand their campaigns online. Hawai‘i Business featured Pleadwell in its 2007 cover story, “25 People who will shape the next 25 years.” Among the first and youngest to be honored by Pacific Business News in its Forty Under 40 Awards in 2000, she also was named Small Business Hawai‘i’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2001. In 2007 she was among women leaders to be recognized by the Hawaii Women’s Business Center for contributions made to Hawai‘i’s community of businesswomen. She and partner Barbara Hastings received the Small Business Administration’s Champion of Women in Business Award for Hawai‘i and Region IX in 2007. The firm has received accolades from the disciplines of public relations, advertising and corporate communications.
Pleadwell is a public speaker and conducts workshops on media relations (including new media), branding, green marketing and issues management. She conducted workshops for Hawai‘i’s High Technology Development Corporation to assist small businesses with communication strategies using new media tools. The workshops were well-attended and highly evaluated. They served as a catalyst for small shops to start blogs, social networking accounts and other online tools.
Pleadwell is a longtime member of the Junior League of Honolulu (JLH). She received the JLH’s Active Award in 2001, and the Community Service Award in 2004. Pleadwell is a past president for the Organization of Women Leaders (OWL) and vice chair for Kahi Mohala Behavioral Health. She is also a board member for the YWCA of O‘ahu. Pleadwell is a member of International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), Hawaii Venture Capital Association (HVCA), National Federation of Independent Businesses (NIFB) and The Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii and the Hawaii Island Chamber of Commerce.
Pleadwell led H&P teams in the recent development of two high profile programs: “Wahine in Hawaii Business: A Toolkit Forum,” a Hawaii Business Magazine event for women executives; and “Who’s Keeping Hawai‘i Green,” a PacificBasin Communications recognition program, honoring people and organizations making strides in sustainability.
Originally from Guam, she worked as a journalist for Guam Business News and the Pacific Daily News. Pleadwell graduated with honors from Chaminade University of Honolulu, and holds a masters in American Studies from University of Hawai‘i at Manoa.

Roy Uemura is a Project Management Consultant providing project management services as an independent consultant. He is also one of the organizing partners of Project Professionals, LLC (PPLLC), a project management consulting firm.
Roy is a Project Management Professional (PMP) certified by the Project Management Institute (PMI). He is a Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensed in the State of Hawaii. Roy has a B.S degree in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State University and a MBA degree from Chaminade University of Honolulu.
PPLLC is a Global Registered Education Provider (REP) certified by PMI. The State of Hawaii Department of Labor and Industrial Relations has approved PPLLC project management courses which the allows the State to cost share the cost of PPLLC’s project management courses with qualified companies in State of Hawaii. PPLLC teaches project management courses at the University of Hawaii at Manoa Outreach College (UHMOC) in their Project Management Certification Program. |
ROY T. UEMURA |
Roy is a Charter member of the PMI Honolulu Chapter and served as President, Professional Development Director, Programs Director, and Membership Director. Roy was instrumental in working with the UHMOC to provide project management training courses. He also initiated the Chapter’s PMP Exam Prep course and the Project Manager of the Year and Project of the Year Awards.
Roy retired from Hawaiian Electric Company where he held positions as Principal Power Plant Engineer for the design and construction of power plan projects on Oahu, Maui County, and the Big Island. He was selected as the Technical Advisor for the Puna Geothermal Demonstration Project and the project manager for the Kahuku Wind Farm Project. He has managed electric transmission, telecommunications and substation projects. One of his projects, “Wailua-Kuilima 46Kv Line Project” won the 2000 Project of the Year for Structures Costing over $10 Million by the American Public Works Association of Hawaii. |
