About HCRC

The mission of Hawaii Community Reinvestment Corporation is to provide innovative financing, training, and consulting services to public and private organizations who engage in building livable communities in Hawai`i.
HCRC seeks to reduce the cost, expand the supply, and improve the quality of housing and vital community facilities to primarily serve low- and moderate-income residents.

Hawaii Community Reinvestment Corporation is a non-profit 501(c)3 financial service corporation created in 1991. HCRC’s goal is to develop and apply innovative financial programs to create and preserve affordable housing and shelter.

Through the establishment and operation of a credit and equity financial consortium HCRC offers a flexible source of funding for these projects, provides technical assistance, training and education, and works with governmental jurisdictions and agencies to achieve maximum leverage of public and private dollars.

Since inception, HCRC has made over $190 million available to more than 60 affordable rental projects containing nearly 3,000 residential units. This achievement was made possible by the unique combination of private and public resources made available by our participating lenders, investors, and government agencies.
